Baby Call!

I have exciting news! Kory and I are FINALLY parents!!!! It feels like it has been the longest road and still feels a little surreal. There is a lot of writing ahead-you can skip it if you want and just look at pictures but I want to have it all written down.

For a quick background story in March we went to a conference with LDSFS and it was the most depressing night! They spoke about how fewer and fewer girls were even coming in to talk to them and more and more families were signing up with LDSFS. AAAHHH! We left that night sooo depressed! We had talked about adding another agency on when we hit our year mark with LDSFS and decided maybe we should start a little earlier. We started with Premier Adoption in May and it has been an awesome experience since day 1. We were told about this baby on July 18th and he was due September 2nd!

August 27th at 5:20 I got the call that she was in labor and we needed to head to Las Vegas where he was being born. I was still at work so I told the doctor I was leaving and he would have to handle it on his own and was out the door. He seemed a little bugged. :-) Especially since I turned my back on him and answered the call while he was giving me instructions for a patient. :-) I had to drive all the way back to Logan to get Kory and then we were off! We got to the hospital at 1:15 am and he had been born at 12:52. We technically weren't allowed to see him yet because we didn't have any rights but with a little cajoling to the nurse she let us come meet him for 10 minutes. It was instant love!!!

We were able to get visitation rights first thing the next morning. Due to Nevada state laws the birth mom could not sign over her rights for 72 hours so he had to stay in the hospital for 72 hours. We moved into the hospital room. The nurses were great! They totally let us take over his care, I think since he didn't really need to be there they were more than happy to not have to worry about him too much besides weighing all his diapers and getting his temp a few times a day.

Friday morning the birth mom signed over all of her rights and we signed to have all rights. It was an amazing feeling!!! The doctor didn't discharge us till 4:30 that afternoon, it was torture! We moved in to a Best Western across town and will be here until this next Thursday at the earliest. We have to wait for the State of Nevada and the State of Utah to communicate and allow us to cross state lines. It seems like a long time but I have heard of states that are 30 days so I guess we won't complain. :-)

In case you are still with me...enjoy the pictures of the most adorable little boy!!!! Boston Richard Call. Born at 7 lbs 4 oz, 18 inches long. In no particular order:

The first day we were there Kory started freaking out that Boston was getting really hot! He was so worried he was getting a fever! He wasn't getting a fever...Ha Ha Ha!
Not even 24 hours old yet!

The made me leave the hospital in a wheelchair! I assured them I didn't need that but they insisted. I will admit I felt pretty important. ;-)

Baby Boston in his temporary bed!
Our first family pic!
Um, just because that is adorable!!!

Daddy and Baby Boston. He looks soooo tiny when Kory holds him!
Our first temporary digs.

Cute hat!

Adorable sneeze! He always sneezes 3 times so I had time to grab the camera!

How cute!!!
I just adore this little boy!

I was lucky to catch this one! He smiles ALOT when he is asleep but he usually knows when I am trying to catch it.

He doesn't love the seat too much. :-)
Kory's fist hair styling. Adorable!!! No, I am not choking him! He rested his chin on my hand when I was about to burp him.

We are sooo in love with this little guy! He has changed our world for the better! He has the most adorable little personality and is sooo easygoing.
