Disaster!

Today I got both the kids fed and situated in what should have been a happy circumstance. Boston was set in front of his favorite show on tv with a bowl of snacks. Bridger was happily chilling in the swing. I then snuck downstairs to do a workout. 24 minutes into my workout Boston joined me downstairs as happy as could be. I thought nothing of it until I came back upstairs. There was shampoo smeared ALL OVER the couch, a humongous pile in the middle of the living room and drops throughout the entire upstairs. As if that wasn't enough he had gotten a package of craisins outside of the pantry and emptied the entire bag all over the house. Oh wait, I'm not done. He had shredded the decorative mesh that was on the halloween decorations I had just finished making! AND the silverware drawer was emptied everywhere! 24 minutes! AAAAAAAA!!!!!!! Will we make it through his toddler years? It is truly, truly debatable!

Poor little Bridger boy!

Bridger has never been what one would call a "happy" baby. He has always been extremely fussy. A couple weeks ago Kory noticed some bulging in the groin area when he was changing Bridgers diaper. Of course it was a Saturday, these things never happen to us on normal business hour weekdays. We called the on-call pediatrician and they thought we better bring him in for a look. Inguinal hernia. Surgery needed. Blah!
Apparently he had a little hole inside him that didn't seal up like it was supposed to and now whenever he cried his bowel would push through the hole and cause a bulging in his groin. They don't like to operate on such little guys unless it is absolutely necessary so they showed me how to push it back in and scheduled surgery for late October.
We carried on our merry way but it seemed to be causing  him more pain every time I pushed it in and he just kept getting fussier. We figured we could persevere. This past Tuesday he was fussier than ever! Kory held him and tried to calm him down while I tried to push the bowel back where it belonged. It was not going back in and Bridgers cries were becoming more and more pained. I finally got it back in and...Bridger passed out. He turned white as a ghost, I now totally understand that saying, and went totally limp. Scariest thing ever!! They moved his surgery up to the 29th of September.
Pre-surgery

Ahhh. What're a cute gown!

Still sleeping it off

Chilling at the hospital

Bridger was a total champ for surgery. They were shocked by how good he was for all of it! Since they had to move it up we had to spend the night but now we are home and Bridger is doing amazing! I don't want to speak too soon but he already seems much more content and that is with pain from surgery! Good job Bridger! You're a trooper!!!

Just because...

Can't a girl ever just blog because her boys are seriously so stinking adorable? I just keep gawking over these pictures and thought I should share the cuteness!

A day at potato harvest

Kory had a trip for work last week and I knew I would go crazy cooped up at home with just the boys for 2 days. The obvious solution was to go check out potato harvest. Boston hasn't missed one since he was born and I knew he would get a kick out of it more than ever this year. Kory's dad was running the cellar and his mom was driving a semi between the field and cellar. We had a grand old time checking it out. Seriously, I think Boston thought it was the best day of his life.

Bridger 1 month pics

I wanted to be slightly more creative with Bridgers monthly pictures than I was with Bostons. With Bostons I just wrote his age on the iPad, propped it up next to him and snapped a picture. For Bridgers we actually have props! Our lovely birthmom and I apparently think alike and bought very similar gifts. We bought her and Bridger matching stuffed monkeys so when we sent pictures she could see the size comparisons and always have that link between the two of them. The same day we gave her those she gave us a teddy bear for Bridger from build a bear that she had a matcher for! Of course we ave to have them both included in the picture!

Bridger is a big boy. He loves his food! At his 2 week appointment he was already up to 9 lbs. A week later we took him into the doctor again and he was at 10 lbs 6 oz! Yesterday he saw the doctor and he is 11 1/2 lbs! Needless to say, he is growing quite well!
