Bridger has never been what one would call a "happy" baby. He has always been extremely fussy. A couple weeks ago Kory noticed some bulging in the groin area when he was changing Bridgers diaper. Of course it was a Saturday, these things never happen to us on normal business hour weekdays. We called the on-call pediatrician and they thought we better bring him in for a look. Inguinal hernia. Surgery needed. Blah!
Apparently he had a little hole inside him that didn't seal up like it was supposed to and now whenever he cried his bowel would push through the hole and cause a bulging in his groin. They don't like to operate on such little guys unless it is absolutely necessary so they showed me how to push it back in and scheduled surgery for late October.
We carried on our merry way but it seemed to be causing him more pain every time I pushed it in and he just kept getting fussier. We figured we could persevere. This past Tuesday he was fussier than ever! Kory held him and tried to calm him down while I tried to push the bowel back where it belonged. It was not going back in and Bridgers cries were becoming more and more pained. I finally got it back in and...Bridger passed out. He turned white as a ghost, I now totally understand that saying, and went totally limp. Scariest thing ever!! They moved his surgery up to the 29th of September.

Bridger was a total champ for surgery. They were shocked by how good he was for all of it! Since they had to move it up we had to spend the night but now we are home and Bridger is doing amazing! I don't want to speak too soon but he already seems much more content and that is with pain from surgery! Good job Bridger! You're a trooper!!!

Oh my gosh! I'm so glad he's doing well now. I can't imagine how hard that's been for you all.
Poor little guy! Having him pass out sounds terrifying! I am so glad his surgery went well! I hope he is doing great now!
