Sorry these posts are backwards! We had to go to court to make Bridger legally ours before we could take him through the temple. Idaho has this awesome law that only requires one post placement visit and then you can finalize! We were able to finalize Bridgers adoption when he was 2 1/2 months old whereas Bostons we had to wait till he was with us 6 months. I soooo prefer Idaho's laws. We got to the court house a little early and were not told where to go so we started wandering. We ended up on the top floor in a hall of people in orange jumpsuits and all handcuffed. There was a few cops scattered throughout. Boston, the boy with no fear, just walked right over to them. They all thought he was the cutest little guy in his suit and said he looked just like a lawyer. Ha. We got out of there really fast!!! We finally found our court room and made it inside. Very similarly to Boston's we had to sit at some microphones and answer lots of questions about our abilities to raise Bridger, our marriage, and our responsibilities. At one point the judge said "You do realize from this day forward he will be your responsibility, that means even when he drives through your neighbors window you still are his parents and must take responsibility." We laughed and said of course but Kory's dad looked mighty worried, seeing as how we are soon to be his neighbors! Bwa ha ha ha ha. The judge gave Bridger an adorable teddy bear after and after seeing that it might make Boston jealous found him a miniature stuffed orange bear. Boston was thrilled. We were lucky enough to get another awesome judge who was willing to take some pictures afterwards! (We have heard there are those that don't!)
It was such a relief to have him be ours legally and not have to report all kinds of little things to the adoption agency anymore. It was such a great day and we are so lucky to have Bridger be ours!!!
