Design Adventures

Sarah has reminded me that it has been awhile since we posted so I have thought long and hard and decided to post about our latest design project in our house. Since Kory was finally convinced to get Dish we have been watching a lot of HGTV and all of the room makeovers. Our first step was to paint an accent wall in the kitchen and then make curtains for the window. However, we found this material that we just loved for the curtains and decided we would make the curtains first and then get the paint. I had a feeling when Kory was buying the material that I would end up doing most of the work, but to my wonderful surprise Kory helped a lot. He did a lot of the pinning, a little bit of sewing and designed the pattern. AMAZING!!Here is a close up of the awesome pattern Kory envisioned. To buy a pattern it would have been another 15 dollars so Kory started drawing and came up with an excellent design. I must say I was worried until they were finished. I could not envision but decided to just go with it. I am happy I did. It was a few day project and we got a table runner out of it as well! The color isn't fantastic in the pictures but what more incentive for you all to come to our house and see it for yourself! Now that this expensive project is out of the way it is time to choose some paint!! I couldn't blog without posting a picture of Buster! This is our first experiment with pulling her hair up even though it wasn't quite long enough at the time. Oh well, she is still cute!

Yea!!! I'm so excited that you blogged!!! Make sure you post when you paint the wall and anything else you design. Your dog is getting cuter, the short hair is not meant for a shih tzu.

Sheesh, it's been a while since you posted. I LOVE LOVE the curtains. Kory is not a normal breed. Don't take it for granted. :) Might I recommend Kilz paint from Walmart. It's a little more expensive, but covers soooo well. You don't have to pick a color chip that is specifically Kilz. You can bring in any color and just tell them you want it mixed in the Kilz paint. After you pain a coat, let it dry completely before you do another coat. Usually one coat is enough with this brand. Trust me, I have tried almost EVERY brand (Lowes, Home Depot, and all the other brands at Walmart).
Cute Buster by the way. After we left your house and buckled Meg in the car, she started full out bawling. Brian and I were shocked and asked what was wrong and she said (through sobs) that she missed Buster. :0)
