One Year of Bliss!

Can you believe it? It has really been a whole year! It has flown past. Over the past year I have realized how much I am totally in love with my husband. I thought I loved him so much when we got married and have come to realize that it was hardly anything compared to how much I love him now. I just wanted to do a small tribute to Kory and share a few of the reasons I love him so much and what a wonderful husband he is.

(Warning: The following is extremely sappy and Kory will probably kill me after he sees I posted this.)

1. Kory has such a big heart. He has a love for people in general that never ceases to amaze me. In just the past couple months he has stopped to help about 5 different strangers with car problems, he is always volunteering in the ward to help people that need a little extra attention and is always looking out for people that might need an extra visit or help with money or food. On top of that he is extremely humble and won't tell a soul he did any of these things for people. He is such an example to me and I love him!

2. Kory will do whatever it takes to make me happy. It doesn't matter if it really isn't something that he wants to do, Kory will always go out of his way to do things he knows will make my life easier and happier.

3. Kory is one of the hardest workers I have ever met. If Kory sets a goal to do something, there is not anything that can stand in his way of achieving it. Presently he is balancing 17 credits in school, working 40+ hours a week, and a calling in the Young Mens presidency among many other things, yet nothing slows him down and he still has time to balance a very needy wife into all of it. I love Kory's motivation.

4. Kory has a strong testimony of gospel and a very strong love for the Lord. Kory is always very adamant about us doing our personal scripture study and prayer as well as our family scripture study and prayer. He blows me away with his insights into the gospel and is always teaching me new things. On top of that he has a very strong faith in the Lord's plan for our family.

5. Kory is very sensitive to my feelings and how to make me feel better about life. I believe you are all aware that Kory and I have had some difficult trials in the past few months and Kory has been a huge support to me throughout them. He is always aware of when I am having a down day and will always take the time to help comfort me and help me feel better about the situation. He is completely selfless and extremely optimistic about everything.

6. Kory can always make me laugh. He has a great sense of humor and even laughs at my jokes, regardless of how stupid they are. He makes life so much fun with his outlook on everything.

7. I know it isn't extremely important but Kory is also so extremely attractive to me! I love his smile and his eyes and I know it is weird but I also adore his ears. It definitely doesn't hurt, on top of everything else, that I would be completely content staring at him for lengthy periods of time.

This is not even close to the numerous reasons I am madly in love with Kory or even comes close to describing what a wonderful person he is but maybe it will give you a little insight as to how lucky and blessed I am. One year was great and I am so happy to know that I still have eternity!!!

Logan! Here we come!

It's official, Kory has been accepted into Utah state and has a job ready to start in Logan in the middle of December. We are moving to Logan!! I am really quite excited, I always wanted to live in Logan and now I get the chance. Kory is excited to do something new and to get away from the craziness of Salt Lake City. Now our only problems is choosing a house. We have been up to Logan a couple times looking at them and have narrowed it down to 3. We decided to put a vote on our blog just for the fun of it. We want to see what everyone thinks but don't be offended if we don't agree with you in the long run. We are showing you the outsides of the house, the living room, and the kitchen.
HOUSE #1-This is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home, smaller but cheaper. It has no garage but does have a master bathroom.
HOUSE #2: This is a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home, bigger but a little bit more expensive. This one also has a garage but no master bathroom.
The option to vote is on the side bar, so please vote and feel free to offer your opinions based off the pictures you see!

Tag!

First and foremost, Heather's tag. To those of you who don't know what the heck i'm talking about the tag is to list 6 quirky, unimpressive things about me. I have been pondering and wasn't able to come up with any. I decided I was just too normal to respond to the tag. Ha Ha. Then Kory started naming off tons about me. After a few hundred I was able to come up with some on my own. So here goes:
1.) I sleep with my legs crossed in the air. That is with my one leg bent up and the other ankle up on top of that knee. It isn't something I purposely do but I always wake up like that.
2.) I eat extremely slowly. Everybody is always waiting on me when they are done for at least 10 minutes. I try really hard to speed up in group situations.
3.) I cannot let others drive when I am in the car. I am positive they cannot handle the road as well as me and I have to be in control.
4.) I can't wear earrings, bracelets, necklaces, nail polishes, or my hair in any fancy fashion. It makes me feel way too girly and like everyone is staring at me.
5.) I absolutely love grocery shopping. There are so many options on the shelf to choose from and it is so fun to find certain ingredients for different meals.
6.) I hate when any of my toes get crossed. It is the most uncomfortable feeling in the entire world!

Whew! That was a hard feat!! I'm still trying to convince Kory to do it as well so hopefully that will be coming! My computer is currently not letting me upload our video from the BYU game so hopefully that will be coming soon!

Bear Lake!

It is always so sad when summer comes to an end. Even though our lives won't change too much since Kory went to school in the summer too it still seems sad to have the season drawing to a close. We had one last trip to finish our summer out with a big bang. A trip to the beautiful Bear Lake with the Call family. It was so much fun! Because of school and work schedules we were only able to go up Friday and come home Saturday night, however, that was enough time to have a wonderful time and wish we could stay up there for a few more days. We arrived and played at the lake for a little while and then we went on an adventure on banana bikes. These were fun! The steering was completely done with the hips and body. We had a few races and got a good workout.

The next day we hiked around some mountains to a really pretty lake. Yes, that is snow in the background if that gives you any idea of how cold the water is. There was a huge tree with a long rope tied to it that people swing on out into the lake. Kory and I each took our turn. It was a lot of fun and quite a shock when you hit the water. Don't miss the great video!

This was such a fun camping trip. Kory and I have decided we are going to make Bear Lake a regular vacation spot every year!

The Amazing Adventures of Kory and Charisse

Okay! It has been awhile, we have received a lot of grief from everyone around us so we thought it was time to dazzle everyone with yet another blog. Our problem is there just isn't too much going on in our lives except work and sleep, but alas, we have scrounged for some ideas and bring you some happenings from the amazing life of Kory and Charisse.
Our first adventure we are going to share with you is our amazing day of babysitting! (I know, you are thinking, "Are they really going to blog about BABYSITTING!?" and my answer is yes, actually, we are.) Back in the day when Heather and Brian were having all of their buying a house troubles and the house that was supposed to work fell through, we were called to come to the rescue. Luckily, Kory had that day off of work. When Heather warned it would be an all day adventure we really started worrying. We can only play Barbies and tag so long before we are about to go crazy so we started thinking of some fun things we could do with them all day. Our lack of creative minds led us to think of...the park. We knew we were doomed! Then Heather called with some wonderful ideas and the adventure began!
Meg and Adin arrived and immediately began playing tag and hide and seek around the house. Within an hour Kory was extremely worn out so we made a fabulous lunch of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese!!! We had to bribe Meg with promises of a movie and telling her twice to eat ten BIG girl bites, and of course the macaroni was not good enough for Adin so he ended up eating a peach yogurt. After eating lunch we strapped the kids into the car (that alone took a half hour out of our day!) and headed to the dollar theater to watch Horton Hears a Who. The movie was very bright and exciting and lucky for us it also played during Adins nap time so he slept the entire movie long. After half the popcorn was in Meg's stomach and the other half on the floor we headed out of the movie for more wonderful adventures. After changing into swimsuits and running a few errands Kory and I had to get done we headed to the Gateway Mall to play in the spraying sidewalks. Both Meg and Adin were very apprehensive about playing on a sidewalk that sporatically sprayed them. After seeing them spray a few times and with Kory out running through them Meg was all gun-ho about the idea. Adin, on the other hand, felt the need to explore by putting his face right up to one of the circles on the sidewalk until he was sprayed right in the face. Needless to say, it took awhile to get him out there again and would eventually only go if Kory went with him. This was sadly the end of our adventures for the day. Heather and Brian were able to find a house and get back earlier than planned. Our all day adventure ended up only being about 7 hours, but for two "newlyweds" that suddenly inherited two kids for a day it was enough to wear us out!

We also took a trip to Idaho to see Kory's sister Kami's new house and although we brought the camera we only remembered to take one picture! Since it is so cute I could not resist putting it on! We had a great time in Idaho and came back just a tad better at guitar hero then we were before! (If you can bring yourself to believe that!)

Okay, okay, hopefully Kory and I are back in the blogging world. Ever since we moved into our apartment, being the cheapskates that we are, we have been getting our internet off of a business in one corner of our apartment. Then suddenly a few weeks ago the internet stopped working!! It was disastrous! However, now, after much persuasion, we have received the password for the internet from a neighbor.

Another high point in our lives right now is the purchase of a new camera. As you all know our camera broke at Disneyland-not a good time for a camera to eat the dust! Finally after weeks of reading about cameras and going to oh so many stores with cameras in them Kory decided he felt secure enough to buy one we had been looking at. So now you can all look at pictures from our lives too.

One last exciting thing in our lives right now is...our new scooter! We actually purchased it in April but I have been banned to write anything about it until Kory got up the nerve to tell his mother. We were trying to survive on one car but with both of us working in entirely different directions we decided we needed something. We looked at junky cars forever but once again, with our stingy ways we did not want to pay the insurance on another car (especially with Kory's history with tickets). Kory really wanted a motorcycle but I envisioned him strewn across the freeway so we compromised and got something cheaper that wouldn't reach the speeds to go on super fast roads. And yes to our mothers whom I know are wondering-he always, always wears a helmet.

This investment has been great on gas prices with our 80 miles to the gallon we rarely have to fill up and when we do it has been very cheap although Kory was very upset yesterday when it cost him $5 to fill up. This has been fun for both of us to go for rides on. Now our only concern is what to do in the winter...Well that is about it in our lives right now. Now that we have internet again we will have to do more exciting things so we actually have something to blog about! I hope everybody has a most fabulous week!
